THE UNIQUE AND EFFECTIVE USE OF OUR AUSTRALIAN NATIVE BOTANICALS IN OUR SKINCARE
BY CARLY RIPPON.
Our skin is the first thing people notice (besides our smiles) so its most important that we take good care of it by having a better understanding of exactly what we are putting on our faces and the benefits that come with it.
We are all guilty of going into a store and purchasing a product because the packaging looks good (a very clever marketing tool) however, do most people actually turn the product around to look at the ingredients? More than likely not! Words containing every letter of the alphabet, with a beautiful image, and a cheeky promo from Kylie Jenner on her Insta story, sells... right!!?
But lets be honest here, for some, all we need is a little more education on the harmful ingredients in those products, and more insight into the real benefits of using Natural ingredients in our Skincare.
After YEARS of market research (including a diploma of Beauty therapy) I have finally stumbled across a product that is more appealing than just its looks.
From spending (wasting) hundreds of dollars on products that promised the world, and delivered as little as Santa would to a naughty kid on Christmas - SAYA SKINCARE is a product I’ve longed for, and it’s not just because it smells like a native botanical party on my face.
These products are made up of active ingredients derived from Australian Native Botanical plants, harnessing the power of these active ingredients into skincare that refines, hydrates and re–balances the skin (with no harsh chemicals that damage or strip the skin)
Tell me, What is more appealing than a product that is locally made, cruelty free of our fury friends, and delivers results using only the most beautiful plant based ingredients. (and of course good for your bank account too).

Let me teach you what I have learnt so far about these amazing botanicals:
This native botanical is the first natural, active bio-available Vitamin C in a water-soluble format. The Kakadu Plum is a native tree from Australia; the fruit is wild harvested by indigenous communities north of Australia. This botanical extract is the highest source of Vitamin C, helping for collagen production and a powerful antioxidant fighting away those free radicals (little molecules that damage our skin).
ILLAWARRA FLAME TREE
Is famous for the bright red bell-shaped flowers, which cover the tree when it’s leafless. Native to subtropical eastern coastal regions of Australia. This beautiful flower is packed with potent bio-actives which help stimulate healthy collagen production, and protect the skin from sun damage.
This is a truly unique native Australian fruit, referred to as a “wild bush peach” - found mainly throughout the central deserts and southern areas of Australia.
Quandong is a rich source of Vitamin E & C, folate, magnesium and is super high in antioxidants (infact it’s the second-highest antioxidant fruit ever measured)
Quandong helps reduce inflammation and provides incredible hydration and rejuvenating properties that help break down collagen and elastin.

Native to the east coast of Australia, this fruit is an active powerful extract, with benefits to both skin and our hair. Kangaroo Apple provides moisture, smoothing and conditioning to the hair, with Amino Acids contributing to the hair growth by carrying oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles.
A native Australian fruit, well-adapted to the dry desert conditions of outback Australia. This natural extract contains rich concentration of Vitamin C, also offering plenty of hydration, depigmentation, whitening and brightening, and collagen re-production, which helps to fight and prevent those signs of ageing.
This beautiful skin protecting oil penetrates deep into the pores delivering loads of hydration and nourishing Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, leaving your skin with a nourished, healthy radiant glow.
CROWN OF GOLD
This Australian native tree is “wild harvested” in eastern coastal Queensland and New South Wales. These fresh floral scented golden yellow to orange flowers are filled with an abundance of anti-oxidants, anti-ageing, anti-inflammatory actives and wound healing properties.
Skin is your body’s largest organ and protective barrier, so having further knowledge on exactly what we are putting onto it and the importance of using natural ingredients will help our skin feel and look healthier than ever before.
With a little bit of research and smarter shopping, align yourself with a certified organic skincare range (hint hint … Saya Skincare) and you’ll be freed from any harmful ingredients from those conventional ranges.
