Why did you create the Renew Serum?

The Renew Serum is a product that was born out of my personal journey during pregnancy. As a first time expectant mum, I became very aware of the unique challenges faced by mums-to-be. From carefully selecting the right foods to avoiding certain skincare ingredients, it was a whole new world of navigating what was best for my health and the well-being of my skin and my baby. I didn’t want to just accept that my skincare routine had been basic, I knew the stress that pregnancy can place on your skin and the skin issues that can arise such as hyperpigmentation and breakouts. This really drove me to proactively find effective solutions that would address the specific skin concerns of pregnancy, particularly my worries about hyperpigmentation. And so, the journey of creating the Renew Serum began.

Retinol, often hailed as the queen ingredient in skincare, had to take a step back during my pregnancy. However, I wasn’t going to compromise the health and appearance of my skin. This led me to explore alternative ingredients that could offer comparable benefits without any associated risks for expectant and breastfeeding mums. It was during this intensive research phase that I discovered the extraordinary potential of Bakuchiol.

Bakuchiol, an incredibly efficacious ingredient that has been used for centuries, but was yet to make its mark in the skincare industry here in Australia. I became quite excited about its potential as I got deeper into studies and results validating its efficacy. Collaborating closely with my chemist, we sought out the highest-quality form of Bakuchiol derived from the sustainably harvested Babchi plant. Sustainability and efficacy is always the driving forces in formulating my products I envision.

The journey into the world of Bakuchiol revealed the amazing benefits it could offer in skincare. Derived from the seeds of the Babchi plant, this extraordinary ingredient has been revered for centuries in ancient Ayurvedic medicine. As a potent antioxidant, it shields the skin from environmental stressors, leaving behind a youthful and radiant complexion.

What makes Bakuchiol truly exceptional is its ability to stimulate collagen production, promoting smoother and firmer skin. It accomplishes this by enhancing cell turnover, thereby refining skin texture and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, Bakuchiol possesses potent anti-inflammatory properties, offering a soothing and calming effect on various skin concerns, including hyperpigmentation. Its ability to deliver comparable results to retinol without the potential side effects has rightfully earned it the title of a natural retinol alternative.

To create a truly potent and versatile product, I selected a blend of 15 botanical oils for Renew Serum. Each oil was chosen for its non-comedogenic nature, exceptional properties, and nourishing benefits for the skin. Each of these botanical oils contributes to the overall effectiveness of Renew Serum, working synergistically to provide nourishment, hydration, protection, and anti-aging benefits. The blend creates its own unique silky texture that absorbs effortlessly into the skin, leaving it velvety-smooth and radiant.

Throughout my pregnancy, I personally trialled and tested R&D samples of Renew Serum, witnessing the power of this unique formulation firsthand. It became a key product in my daily skincare routine, a product I couldn't imagine living without. While Bakuchiol is a relatively new player in the skincare arena, I always advise pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to consult with their healthcare professionals before incorporating any new products into their skincare routine.
