Dealing with oily skin? Oiliness can also lead to pimples and not so radiant skin which is why a cleansing balm or cleansing oil is an absolute non-negotiable. Oil-based cleansers are extremely effective at removing excess oil without stripping and irritating the skin. By giving your skin a proper cleanout, your skin will be able to absorb serums, moisturisers and targeted treatments much more effectively - leaving you brighter, more revitalised skin.

Active ingredients work to repair, rejuvenate, hydrate and protect the skin. Depending on your skin concerns, active ingredients can target a multitude of skin concerns so it’s important to choose the right one for you. Here are a few of our favourites.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids rejuvenate the skin by exfoliation. They have the ability to gently dissolve the bonds that hold dull, dead skin cells on the surface of the skin - allowing more evenly pigmented skin cells to take their place. Bakuchiol acts in a similar way to retinol, however, it’s much more gentle on the skin. Bakuchiol’s collagen-regulating and cell regeneration benefits help to minimise pore appearance and pigmentation, restore firmness and reduce signs of ageing.
Well-known for its multitasking benefits, Niacinamide is an essential vitamin B that is extremely restorative. It balances, hydrates, brightens - helping to keep the skin firm and healthy. It’s well-tolerated by all skin types and even treats blemishes with its anti-inflammatory properties.

What exactly does a healthy skin barrier look like? A healthy skin barrier generally looks plump, smooth and feels soft to touch. You can improve your skin barrier by using products that support, strengthen and protect the skin. Keeping your skin moisturised and hydrated is essential for happy skin too! Humectants, occlusives and emollients all play a role in restoring and sealing in moisture. To prevent damage, don’t over-exfoliate, use pH balanced products and keep your active ingredients in check. Remember, strong actives or harsh ingredients can weaken the skin barrier so be mindful when you are applying these. Lastly, always make sure you protect your skin SPF (every day!) and antioxidants.
